Irene Taylor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Irene Louise Reed Taylor, 85, formerly of Sikeston, died Feb. 1, 2019, at her daughter’s home in Kansas City.

She was the daughter of the late Nina and William Reed and the fifth of 17 children.

Her husband, James “Red” Taylor Sr., preceded her in death.

Survivors include: four children, Patricia Vollersten (Larry) of Sikeston, Doug Ruff (Sandy) of Charleston, Sherian Ruff of Kentucky, Tammy Linam (David) of Kansas City; three stepchildren, Brenda Enoch, Jim Taylor and Judy Gramlin; two brothers, Bart and David Reed; four sisters, Martha Strange, Pauline Paulstring, Jo Ann Martin and Shelia Shelby; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by nine siblings, Amos, Sam, Bill, J.E., Johnny, Burl, Alice, Charlene and Naomi.

A memorial service and interment of ashes will be held at a date still to be determined at the cemetery in Barlow, Ky., alongside other family members.
