SIKESTON — Elissa Lin Boes and Claire Elizabeth Hamlin were named Sikeston High School Students of the Month for May.

Sikeston Public Schools Foundation, which sponsors the monthly program, names two seniors each month for the honor during the 2018-2019 school year.

Boes, who is the daughter of Dink Boes and Melissa Morris, did not list any school activities, and she listed work as her hobby.

Hamlin, who is the daughter of Terry and Kristy Hamlin, is active in DECA, Key Club, FBLA, Red Peppers, varsity tennis, NHS, Art Club and yearbook. She also served as a college ambassador and participated in Mizzou’s mini-med school. In her spare time, she enjoys providing clerical support for HOPE International Disster Relief, working as a bell ringer/member of the money-counting team for the Salvation Army and fostering animals through Sikeston PAWS to secure adoption at local community events.
