Bank of New Madrid makes donation to Portageville Schools

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — At the first Friday pep-assembly to start the new school year Bank of New Madrid made its annual donation to the Portageville School District, thanks to the support of debit card users from the bank’s Bulldog My School Card program. The program sets aside five cents for each $10 credit purchase made by Bulldog card holders. Last year, an additional incentive of “a quarter back” for every $10 credit purchase was offered for the day of Football Homecoming.

Given there are no restrictions of for the use of these funds, Portageville Superintendent Michael Allred, the Board of Education and school staff are always happy to accept this donation, knowing it can always be used for any need the school may have. Started in 2014, the Bank of New Madrid customers have increased this donation amount year after year. Since debit cards are the primary source of payment it’s an ideal way for bank customers to contribute to a very worthy cause (education) with no cost to them.

Bank of New Madrid is also the proud sponsor of the Bulldog Alert text service that alerts the community of school activities and notices. Anyone wanting to become a part of the giving to Portageville School can see anyone at the Portageville Branch to be part of next year’s school donation.
