BENTON, Mo. — Jim Smith, age 77, passed away on Sept. 10, 2019, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Jan. 31, 1942, in Salem, NJ. On April 24, 1973, in New Madrid, he married Bettie Williams Smith, who survives of the home in Benton. He had worked at Slusher Farm and Home Center in Sikeston.

Other survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Leslie and Jared Herndon of Sikeston and Teresa Hawkins of Morley; four grandchildren, Lindsy Hawkins of Morley, Daryl Babb Jr. of Paducah, Ky., Brittaney Ruedrich of Sikeston and Leston Babb of Spokane, Wash.; four great-grandchildren, Emaleigh Ruedrich, Madelyn Ruedrich, Henley Babb and Kaylee Williams.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
