Why lose jail revenue if in shortfall?

I’m a concerned citizen of Mississippi County. I read in the paper that the Sheriff’s Department has a shortfall of nearly $100,000 in the budget at the current run rate. Sheriff Britton Ferrell says his purpose this year is to trim expenses and find ways to increase revenue. How can you increase revenue when you terminate a money-making contract? That doesn’t make sense to me. I agree with presiding commissioner Jamie Conn that if you hold New Madrid County prisoners, that’s a liability. If you hold 1 or 100 you said yourself, you lost revenue from PTS. Why lose that revenue? No matter how you look at it, it is lost revenue. I think, at best, to keep what you have until you find another revenue. Now Pemiscot County can make that revenue. Another lost decision.

Truth won’t change Republican’s either

This is to the person who wrote “The truth won’t change Democrats.” I’m sorry, but there is nothing you can do to change a Republican. Trump can lie, cheat, steal and then Republicans don’t even notice the tragedies that are going on because of him. He doesn’t know the truth. The truth is not in him.

Reward for missing wallet

If anyone has found a black and yellow wallet in the parking lot of Break Time in Sikeston, across from the Region’s Bank between 8:45 and 9:30, there is a reward of $400 if you would just drop it at the post office. Thank you.
