NMCC pushes back prom; organizing senior spotlight

Thursday, April 9, 2020

New Madrid County Central High School’s prom organizers have tentatively set June 6 for the school’s grand march and dance. They added in a Facebook post, “We are committed to continue delaying until we can safely congregate.”

Meanwhile for NMCC seniors, who are missing out on their final weeks together, the R-1 District is organizing a senior spotlight.

“We all know your senior year is not going how you thought it would and we are trying to find ways to make it better,” officials said.

Members of the senior class are to submit as many senior pictures as they want to share along with the name of the photographer, a list of their activities, their plans for next year and any additional information. The submissions should be emailed to Rebecca Treece at rtreece@newmadridco.k12.mo.us

Gideon High School’s junior/senior prom is tentatively set for May 7. The grand march will be at 6 p.m. in the Gideon High School gymnasium with the prom planned from 7-11 p.m. at the Westwood Event Center in Poplar Bluff.
