UPDATED NUMBERS: Seven new positive cases in Scott County Wednesday; total up to 59

Scott County has seven new positive COVID-19 cases of Wednesday afternoon, bringing their total to 59 according to the Scott County Health Department Wednesday afternoon.

Of the seven new cases, six are African American and five are male. Four of the new cases are between the ages of 20-29 and two are under 19. One is over the age of 70.

Of the 59 cases in Scott County, 45 are active with 13 recovered. There has been one death.

According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Wednesday afternoon, the state saw an increase of 196 new positive cases Wednesday with 19 deaths, bringing the state’s total to 6,137 cases with 208 deaths.

Locally, New Madrid County has nine positive cases and only two are active with seven recovered. Mississippi County has one positive case.

Cape Girardeau County had three new positive cases Wednesday, raising their total to 40 while Pemiscot County increased by four to 17 positive cases.

The Stoddard County Public Health Center reports 19 cases with nine active and 10 recovered. Thirteen of those who have tested positive are male with six female.
