UPDATED NUMBERS: One new case and 8 recoveries reported Friday in Scott County

SIKESTON — Scott County saw one new positive case of COVID-19 Friday but eight more recoveries.

According to the Scott County Health Department Friday afternoon, Scott County had one additional case, pushing the county’s total to 60. The Scott County Health Department also reported eight recoveries, leaving 37 active cases in Scott County. There has been one death.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 304 new positive cases of COVID-19 Friday afternoon with 44 additional deaths. The state currently has had 6,625 positive cases and 262 deaths with over 65,000 tests conducted.

Bollinger County (4) and Cape Girardeau County (43) each had an additional case on Friday as well while there were no new cases reported by the Missouri Department of Public Health and Senior Services for Butler (25), Dunklin (19) and Stoddard (19).

New Madrid County also did not have a new case, holding at nine with all but one recovered, according to the New Madrid County Health Department.

Mississippi County currently has three positive cases, however, 22 inmates and three staff at the Southeast Correctional Center in Charleston tested positive for COVID-19 according, to the Missouri Department of Corrections.
