Unilever hosts day of service

SIKESTON — Unilever hosted a Day of Service on Thursday, where the company donated one day’s worth of products to organizations during the coronavirus pandemic.

Some of the organizations that Unilever distributed to are Feeding America and Direct Relief.

“There has never been a more important time for us to stand united,” Sikeston Unilever Factory Director Bryan Dunham said. “As a purpose-driven company, we believe it is our responsibility to do all that we can to help protect lives and livelihoods during these times. United for America is a movement inspiring collective action to deliver food, medical supplies, hygiene products, and other critical items to organizations supporting those most impacted by this crisis. Our Day of Service is one of the most important aspects.”

Some of Unilever’s food and refreshment products include Hellmann’s, Lipton, Magnum, Ben and Jerry’s, Breyers, and Klondike.

Of the beauty and personal care products, Axe, Dove, Vaseline, and Degree are some of the products.

All Dunham and his staff want, coming away from the event, are to make a positive impact during a time that hasn’t been positive.

“Unilever is looking to give back with Day of Service,” Dunham said. “We’re proud and humbled to be able to contribute the equivalent of one day’s worth of products from our U.S. factories. We’re proud to have more than 50 partners joining us to amplify our impact with volunteering and donation opportunities.”
