COVID-19 UPDATE: Scott County with 10 additional cases, 8 recoveries since Friday

There have been 10 additional positive cases of COVID-19 reported in Scott County since Thursday. According to the Scott County Health Department, a total of 10 new positive cases were reported between Friday and Sunday along with eight more cases that have fully recovered.

That gives the county 289 cases since March with 61 of those active and 205 recoveries. An additional 13 residents have died related to the virus according to the health department.

The Mississippi County Health Department is reporting two additional positive coronavirus cases since Thursday. That brings the county’s total to 82 cases in the general population with eight active cases and 74 out of isolation.

According to the Missouri Department of Corrections, there are two active cases remaining among the 20 staff members who have tested positive and one inmate case is still active among the 47 inmates that tested positive.

The New Madrid County Health Department last reported three additional cases on Friday, giving the county 124 positives since March with 52 active and 72 out of quarantine with one death.

The Stoddard County Public Health Center recently reported 184 positive cases in the county since March with 18 cases currently active and 157 recovered. There have been nine deaths related to COVID-19 reported, with seven of those coming from an outbreak in a nursing home outbreak.

The Dunklin County Health Department last reported 188 positive cases on Friday with 59 active and 126 recovered. Three deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported in the county.

The Pemiscot County Health Department last reported 178 cases Friday afternoon with 33 active and 139 released from isolation. There are five hospitalizations with six deaths related to the virus being reported.

Sunday afternoon the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center reported 516 positive cases with 44 probables. There are 197 active cases with 360 recovered and three deaths being reported.

On Sunday, the state reported 1,218 new cases of the virus – Missouri’s fifth-highest day ever – bringing the number of cases in the state throughout the pandemic to 41,927 with 1,197 deaths. According to the Center for Disease Control, Missouri is 29th among the 50 states in number of positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
