Fifth COVID-19 reported in New Madrid County; Scott County sees 36 recoveries since Friday

The New Madrid County Health Department reported their fifth death related to COVID-19 over the weekend, while some local counties reported more recoveries than new cases.

The New Madrid County Health Department did not release any additional information on the death, which is the fifth since the pandemic began in March. The health department also reported 18 new cases in the county since Friday, along with 37 recoveries.

Currently 36 cases are active in the county with 313 out of quarantine.

There are 17 new positive COVID-19 cases in Scott County along with 36 recoveries since Friday.

The Scott County Health Department reported the numbers late Monday afternoon, leaving the county with 140 active cases and 425 recoveries. There have been 13 deaths related to the virus.

The Mississippi County Health Department reported 14 new positive cases since Friday, giving the community 60 active cases with 138 out of isolation. Of the active cases, 51 are confirmed with nine probable.

The Stoddard County Public Health Center reported 25 new cases over the weekend with six recoveries. As of Tuesday morning, there were 49 active cases in the county with 234 recovered and nine deaths related to COVID-19.

The Dunklin County Health Department reported 19 new cases since Friday with nine new recoveries. As of Tuesday morning, 87 cases were active with 348 recovered and seven deaths reported since pandemic began.

Twenty new cases were reported by the Pemiscot County Health Department late Monday afternoon, along with 12 more recoveries. There are 43 active cases in the county with four people hospitalized along with 266 released from isolation. Nine deaths have been attributed to the virus.

The Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center reported 173 active cases Monday, a drop of 16 cases. There have been 714 recoveries, an increase of 26 and six deaths reported since the pandemic began in March.
