Active cases increase; three more local deaths reported

The number of active COVID-19 cases increased locally since Friday while three deaths were reported.

The Scott County Health Department reported 10 new cases Saturday, eight on Sunday and 10 on Monday, increasing the number of active cases from 81 on Friday to 109 on Monday afternoon.

There has been 700 recoveries in Scott County with 15 deaths.

The Mississippi County Health Department reported 15 new cases since Friday with 10 recoveries, giving the county 43 active cases. There have been six deaths in the county.

In New Madrid County, the health department reported four new cases on Monday, leaving the county 21 active cases and 475 out of quarantine. There has been 13 deaths in the county.

The Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center reported 120 new COVID-19 cases since Friday while two more residents died related to the virus. Currently the county has 396 active cases with 17 deaths and 1,195 recoveries.

The Pemiscot County Health Center announced the county’s 12th death related to COVID-19 on Monday afternoon. There are currently 73 active cases in the county with four hospitalizations and 420 released from isolation.
