Two COVID-19 reported locally, active cases hold fairly steady

Two deaths were reported locally as the number of active COVID-19 cases held fairly steady over the weekend.

The Scott County Health Department reported the county’s 18 death related to COVID-19 on Monday. There were 10 new positive cases reported in the county on Saturday and Monday with five positive cases reported on Sunday while 11 more have recovered since Friday.

As of Tuesday morning, there was 154 active cases with 837 having recovered.

The Mississippi County Health Department reported six new cases since Friday. The number of active has dropped from 57 Friday to 38 on Tuesday morning. There has been six residents die related to the virus.

The New Madrid County Health Department reported a drop in active cases from 72 on Friday to 58 Monday afternoon. There were 11 new cases reported on Monday. There has been 15 deaths to date in the county related to COVID-19.

The Stoddard County Public Health Center reported 11 new cases over the weekend and 16 new cases on Monday. As of Tuesday morning, there were 124 active cases while 18 residents have died due to the virus.

The Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center reported 77 new cases since Friday with 12 new cases reported Monday. The county has 579 active cases as of Monday, with 1,560 recoveries and 32 deaths.

There were 33 Cape Girardeau County residents hospitalized Monday, with the county’s hospitals reported 42 total virus-related hospitalizations.

The Pemiscot County Health Center also reported a death related to COVID-19 on Monday, making the 13th death in the county. The county currently has 49 active cases with three residents hospitalized and 546 out of isolation.

The Dunklin County Health Department had not released any current numbers as of Tuesday morning.
