Number of COVID-19 active cases decreases in Mississippi County

Eight new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Mississippi County since Friday. According to the Mississippi County Health Department, the number of active cases decreased from 80 to 75 while the deaths remained the same at seven.

There are currently 40 active cases at the Southeast Correctional Center in Charleston, Missouri, three more than Friday, according to the health department.

There were 52 additional cases reported in Stoddard County since Friday, with 24 over the weekend and 28 new cases reported on Monday. There are 179 current active cases with 978 recovered.

There is currently 367 active cases in Cape Girardeau County, a decrease of 44 from Monday to Tuesday. The health department reports 2,790 have recovered with 53 deaths reported since March.

The Dunklin County Health Department reported 93 active cases Tuesday afternoon with 1,315 recovered and 12 deaths since March.

The Pemiscot County Health Center reported 75 active cases Monday afternoon with three hospitalizations. There are 761 released from isolation with 18 deaths.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the Scott County and New Madrid County health departments had not posted any updated numbers.
