Local counties report four deaths related to coronavirus

Local health departments reported four additional deaths related to COVID-19 on Wednesday, while area counties continue to see an increase in positive cases.

Two deaths were reported in Scott County, making 35 since the pandemic began in March. The Scott County Health Department reported 78 new cases, with 673 cases currently active in the county. There has been 1,628 recoveries.

Two deaths were also reported in Cape Girardeau County, making 63 since March. One individual was in their 70s and the other in their 90s. Currently there are 1,141 active cases in Cape Girardeau County with 3,551 recovered.

The Mississippi County Health Department has reported 279 new cases in the last week while the New Madrid County Health Department reported 23 new cases on Wednesday. Currently there are 149 active cases in New Madrid County with 1,083 out of quarantine and 22 deaths.

The Stoddard County Health Department reported 50 new positive cases Wednesday with 381 cases active and 1,384 recoveries. There has been 32 deaths reported in Stoddard County since March.

The Dunklin County Health Department reported 23 new cases Wednesday along with 17 recoveries. To date there are 101 active cases in the county with 1,741 recoveries and 12 deaths.

The Pemiscot County Health Center currently reports 98 active cases with 10 hospitalizations and 19 deaths.
