CATRON, Mo. — Tommy L. McCoy was born Jan. 13, 1953, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Lottie (Sullenger) McCoy and Robert McCoy. He passed away on Dec. 21, 2020, at Southeast Hospital, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 67 years, 11 months and eight days.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Lottie (Sullenger) McCoy and Robert McCoy.

Tommy was united in marriage Dec. 22, 1976, in Marston, Missouri, to Cathy Fowler. Tommy farmed; he also owned and operated his own seed corn business. He worked for the State of Missouri; he also was a deputy sheriff serving on the Alert team since 1979. Tommy loved collecting guns, antiques and tractors. Tommy never met a stranger. He loved talking to people and was always willing to help anyone in need. He and Cathy are proud members of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church in Marston.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Cathy McCoy of Catron; sons; Tommy (Angie) McCoy II of Festus, Missouri, Terry McCoy of St. Louis, Missouri; sister; Darla (Jeff) McCoy; grandchildren, Kaylin and Jackson McCoy, Ciara, Chelsea and Courtney Hargis, and Tanner Kozel; nieces; Amber (Kyle) Karr and Kelsie Brands; and a host of many other relatives and friends.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28 at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, Missouri.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
