Question about Medicaid expansion

I’ve got two comments. The price of oil is about $45 a barrel. Why are we paying $2 a gallon? It’s a rip off. Must be Republicans I guess. How come they’re ain’t no newspapers, ain’t no news stations, not picking up the state of Missouri voters voted to approve lower income to get Medicaid and stuff. People that’s making a little higher payments will qualify for payments and help their family. But the governor vetoed it after the state of Missouri voters voted it in to help these people that’s making a certain amount of money. And the governor vetoed it. Must be Republicans. He’s the one vetoed it. You don’t here nobody saying nothing. I’m sitting here watching TV saying once something is passed it should become a law. Well the governor never did sign it into law. Where is all the voters in Missouri that voted for it, how come people was not at the office protest and nothing else. It’s a shame. Voters in Missouri voted for these people to qualify for Medicaid that makes a little more money. The governor didn’t put it in law.

The issue did pass but the Missouri legislature must put a plan in place and the legislature has to decide how and if they are going to fund it. The way the amendment was written means the legislature funds the entire program or none of it. It is supposed to be discussed this month. But you are misinformed about the governor. In a recent comment, Parson said, “We’ll fully support Medicaid. I’ve said that since Day One: once that vote came in, that we would support that. We’re going to have to pay for it out of the general revenue.”

Trump didn’t cause COVID

I’m reading Wednesday, Dec. 30 Speakout, “Not surprised Trump lost the election.” Here’s another person trying to blame Trump for COVID deaths when it is square on the shoulders of the Chinese government and the Democrats who wanted to do nothing, went to Chinatown and didn’t wear masks. That’s where the trouble lies right there. And lowest approval rate? You might want to fact check that. He’s been the best president we’ve ever had and what you’re fixing to get is socialism and so thankful because it’s going to hit you hard too.

Trump is the best ever

I want to speak out to that person in here that said they wasn’t surprised that President Trump lost. President Trump didn’t lose. He had more voters. He had people that stole that election from him and it was proven. I believe later on he’ll get back in there when they find out the truth on Biden and that bunch. He was the best president we’ve ever had on the economy and everything else. You know what, you people, before you open your mouth on Trump you need to read into these things and watch the media. They lie. It’s nothing but fake news. They lie. President Trump was the best president we’ve ever had and he ain’t god. He didn’t make those people die and he didn’t cause that disease. It’s still going on ain’t it? He’s the one who got the vaccine going by the way, not Biden. You need to learn what your saying before you speak.

Virus isn’t just at church

I don’t understand why people can’t go to church because they’re afraid they’ll catch the COVID. But they’ll run all over everywhere else and not worry about catching it. That don’t make no sense at all.

Start a geothermal business

Investors could start a business or industry where they use geothermal. Both hot water and cold water out of the earth and supply it to customers in cities and rural areas. It would be beyond the geothermal man selling it to one home, each customer. Have a whole company that sells it. If someone is interested in it, get started on it. We need more businesses you know.

Not a fan of city purchase

I recently read in the paper where the city of Sikeston purchased a considerable amount of property with taxpayers money, at the end of Ingram Street on Interstate 57 for an interchange. Sounds to me like we just purchased the land using taxpayers money to open up land for development of some large developer. We don’t need another interchange off of Interstate 57, we already have two. Thank you.

The interchange will help bring industries to the new industrial park on the south end of Sikeston. That in turn will bring many new jobs.

Sikeston is unfriendly

Sikeston has got to be the most unfriendly town I have ever lived in.

Pelosi could become President

President Trump lost in the general election. He lost in the electoral college. Now if Congress fails to ratify Mr. Biden as president, as far as I can remember about our civic lessons in school, Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the house, would become president. And that’s a scary thought. Thank you.

Shooting location wrong

FYI. There was not a shooting inside the Huddle House in Charleston. There was a shooting inside the Flying J Truck Stop. The men entered Flying J’s and began shooting. No one was hurt and they fled before the police arrived. The police made the mistake when writing up the report.

Thanks for the clarification, caller.
