Friday, January 15, 2021

New Madrid County is the latest county to begin a waiting list for the COVID-19 vaccine.

On Friday morning, the New Madrid County Health Department said in a social media post they currently do not have a date when the vaccine will be available to the general public, but residents wanting the vaccine can put their name on a waiting list.

Those wanting the vaccine can fill out a form to be added to the waiting list at http://www.newmadridcountyhealthdept.com/covid-waiting-list.php.

Once a resident is on the waiting list, they will be contacted when a vaccine dose is available to them.

Currently, the health department is working on the state’s Phase 1A plan which includes healthcare workers; long-term care residents and staff; home health, home care, Hospice and dialysis center staff; vaccinator staff and those administering COVID-19 testing; adult day care staff and residents and all remaining patient-facing healthcare providers, including but not limited to health care workers in emergency shelters, dental offices, school nurses, pharmacies, public health clinics, mental/behavioral health providers and correctional settings.

Thursday Missouri Gov. Mike Parson announced the move to the state’s Phase 1B plan. Phase 1B will be for high-risk populations, essential workers and first-responders.
