While heavy snowfall is wreaking havoc on travel, it is also causing issues for those wanting the COVID-19 vaccine.

Southeast Health postponed their COVID-19 vaccine clinic at Shawnee Park Center in Cape scheduled for Feb. 16 while they also postponed the clinic set for Feb. 16 at Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County in Dexter. That clinic has been rescheduled for Feb. 23.

The clinic at Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County in Dexter set for Feb. 17 has also been postponed.

Those scheduled for one of the clinics will be notified by email and/or phone call to reschedule their appointment.

While Saint Francis Healthcare will still hold their clinic on Tuesday, those wishing to reschedule their appointment due to inclement weather are asked to call 573-381-5958 during normal business hours.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson announced Monday evening that all COVID-19 mass vaccination events in partnership with the Missouri National Guard, Department of Health and Senior Services and State Emergency Management Agency scheduled for Feb. 15-19 are being canceled in the interest of safety due to extreme winter weather.

Parson said the state is making every effort to reschedule these events, but individuals who were registered are encouraged to reach out to other vaccinators in their region in the interim. Missourians scheduled to receive a vaccine this week through other providers should check with their vaccinator for any potential schedule changes.
