Put all council meetings online

Why doesn’t Sikeston city council put their videos on Facebook? They do it when they can’t meet in person, why can’t they do it when they meet together. I can’t make it to the 5 p.m. meetings but I would like to watch the meetings when I can. It is just another way to get the citizens involved. Unless they don’t want them to see what really goes on.

I called BMU this morning and asked them to come check my meter and she said it is a new kind of meter and it didn’t need to be checked. I asked if she was refusing to check my meter and she said yes, so I hung up. What they need to do is have an audit on BMU. Why did they have to build that new fancy office they got? It looks like somebody’s mansion. Also, why did BMU buy the Bootheel Golf Course? They riding horses out there? They need to sell that thing. Thank you.

We encourage you to read our stories we have written on the rates that will answer your questions. The new meters are now able to be checked in-house and not physically at the residence. Testing was done on all AMI meters prior to installation and a third-party meter testing vendor will test 1 percent of the current meters sometime in March.

Impressed at clinic

I’m calling because I want to compliment the people that were running the COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Southeast Hospital in Dexter. I am a senior. I was there Wednesday morning. They have a system that moves us along very efficiently. Everyone there was so friendly and nice and the shot hardly hurt at all. I was so impressed with the way they were doing it I had to call. And I want to say I am so thankful to have gotten the vaccine and I look forward to going back and getting the other one, because I am a senior and I am afraid of catching this disease.
