Sikeston BMU breaks ground on new water plant

Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities recently broke ground on the site of a new water plant located along U.S. Highway 61 South. This site provides the highest quality of water option by reducing the need for certain treatment equipment and improving efficiencies. When completed in 2022, the new plant will have the capacity to be expanded allowing the retirement of the oldest water plant in service since 1932.
