LAS VEGAS — Coy Eugene Myrick, 87, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021. He was born May 19, 1933 in Matthews, Missouri, to Raymond and Lunell Myrick.

Coy attended Matthews elementary, junior and high schools. A short time after completing high school, he joined the United States Air Force in 1953. Coy served just over 21 years in the military. He was stationed in French Morocco 1959-1960, Japan for three years 1961-1964, Texas for four years 1964-1968, and Germany 1968-1970 during his military career. Coy also fought in Vietnam War 1970-1971. After he returned, he went to Travis 1971-1972; prior to remaining in Las Vegas 1972-2021. As one could imagine there were many job tasks that Coy committed to over the years he spent in to Air Force. However, his all-time favorite job task was being a Project Coordinator, where he organized and facilitated active duty soldiers visits with their wives; at the end of The Vietnam conflict.

He met the love of his life Frances through a friend in Vacaville, CA. The two were united in holy matrimony in 1955 in Reno, Nevada. They together had one son Rodney in 1958. Coy truly loved and cherished time with his family. They family relocated from Travis AFB to Las Vegas in 1972. Coy enjoyed golf, swimming, hunting, gaming, softball and fishing. He actually trained the military ping pong champion by being an amazing sparring partner.

Coy was preceded in death by his wife of roughly 60 years Frances; parents Raymond and Lunell; and two sisters Peggy and Joyce.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his only child Rodney (Fran); two granddaughters LeeAnn Hartlauer and Kaelyn Harper; two grandchildren Autumn Hartlauer and Reagan Coddington; one brother Arnold; one sister Karen Rhoda and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
