Betty Young Daniels
SMITHVILLE, Tenn. — Betty Jean Young Daniels, age 76, died Wednesday, July 28, 2021. She had battled cancer for several years.
Born Aug. 11, 1944, in Point Pleasant, Missouri, she was the sixth of nine children born to Marvin Hal and Bertie Mae (Waynick) Young. Most of her childhood, she was raised by her beloved Aunt Emma and Uncle Chet Young and later by her dear brother-in-law, Robert E. (Bob) Bird and family of Kewanee. She attended New Madrid High School and was a 1962 graduate.
She moved to the East Coast and later met John C. Daniels, the love of her life and they married in 1972. They moved to Tennessee and re-established their company, Regal Craft Products, a kitchen cabinet and mantel business.
When time allowed, they enjoyed world travel, fishing in Florida and skiing on Center Hill Lake.
Betty is survived by her husband, John; son, John Jr.; daughter-in-law, Brook; and granddaughters, Katlyn and Kyra. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, especially Billy W. and Jalonda Harris of Matthews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville.
