R-1 tax rate falls slightly

NEW MADRID, Mo. - An increase in property tax valuations throughout the New Madrid County R-1 school district has resulted in a very slight decrease to the 2021 tax rate for patrons.

At a special meeting, the New Madrid County R-1 Board of Education set the current year’s tax rate at 3.8365 cents per $100 valuation. This is a reduction of .005 from the previous year’s rate.
