Steampunks 18100

Scott County Central High School’s two robotics teams competed Feb. 5 in the league robotics tournament. Due to inclement weather and bad road conditions, the competition was held virtually. Steampunks 18100 received second place in the Think Award category. First place was needed to advance to the state competition. “Although these awards did not advance us to state I am proud of our teams,” said Cristy Crites, robotics coach/sponsor for SCC. “They worked very hard this year and had two fully-functioning, dependable robots that met the tasks of the season with ease.” Crites said she had no doubt that if the weather hadn’t canceled the in-person competition, her two teams would have advanced to the state competition.
