Voters have spoken

I think our recent school board election shows that the tax-paying citizens of East Prairie are not happy with the current board. The voting public sees no need for assistant superintendent and assistant principals. No tax measure will pass as long as our school dollars are being mis-utilized.

Hire coaches from outside district

Sikeston needs to go outside the school district to hire coaches in the future. At least keep the application process open for longer to get more applicants. As we’ve recently seen, just hiring the next man isn’t always best. They aren’t always the best person for the job. Just look at the number of kids who don’t come out and the bad coaching moves they make in the games that cost their teams. Sikeston should strive to be better, not settle for the next man up when the next man up isn’t up for the job.

Glad fireworks bill failed

Glad to hear Sikeston rejected the in-town fireworks bill. This could have created a lot of confusion and extra work for the police on New Year’s Eve, since we only have gun fire going off in the city now.

Time to fix dome

Is Three Rivers in Sikeston going to replace it’s dome on its roof?
