City should invest locally

The new improvements for Legion Park look really nice. It’ll be great to have that expansion downtown. It will draw much more activity from the community and I think it’s going to be great for our downtown local businesses. But while working with the website, I noticed we went with an architect out of St. Louis as we have gone out of the area for our school buildings. This is a lot of money could invest locally. We invest our money locally. The city should do the same.

Fix East Prairie streets

I have to do it like this because I called over here in East Prairie and report the streets having holes almost big enough to swallow half of a car. And what’s so bad over there on Lee Avenue, or Lee Street, is it’s only a half a block long but it’s over there by the baseball field where everybody is coming into town. Everybody can see our town, see our streets, and that street there is a shame. The city don’t even bring a truck load of blacktop and dump it in there, or even gravel. You think I’m lying, come over here and drive by the old baseball field, go down Lee Street and see what I’m talking about. We’re over here paying $60-75 water bill and we don’t get none of our streets fixed. But this is bad because visitors come over here. It’s a shame. Maybe you can find out why they don’t fix it or bring a truck load of gravel and dump it in the two holes.
