Letter: Thank you for making EPES blood drive a success

Friday, March 17, 2023

Dear community,

Thanks to each of you that helped to make this 16th East Prairie Elementary School (Doyle) blood drive a huge success.

This year 191 came out and braved the weather, and 172 units were considered productive and on its way to save 516 lives. Throughout our 16, we have collected over 3,393 units of blood saving 10,179 lives! We are the largest “pint-sized hero” drive in the nation.

We have a very special thanks to Tasters, Depot and other volunteers who brought food to help feed the Red Cross workers and a very special thank you to Beauton’s for helping sponsor the prizes, Bain Auto Sales for sponsoring the classroom pizza parties, the Red Cross workers and so many that volunteered their help with running the drive, our school staff, our community, and most of all our “pint sized heroes” who are learning at a very young age how to “shine their light” and help others in need.
