Sikeston personal property and real estate tax statements mailed
SIKESTON — Sikeston residents should be on the lookout for their tax statements as the City of Sikeston sent them out on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
Personal property and real estate taxes are due by Dec. 31. There is a 1% penalty per month and $1 per month vehicle penalty for the number of assessed vehicles if paid after Dec. 31.
Sikeston residents may have not received a statement if they did not live in Sikeston Jan. 1, 2024; did not have a vehicle in their name Jan. 1 of the current tax year; the county where they live did not receive their yearly assessment form; they own real estate and the taxes are to be paid through their escrow account.
If residents have not received a tax statement by the end of November, they should contact the collector’s office at 573-471-2193.
If an individual lived in the Sikeston city limits Jan 1, 2024, and owned a vehicle registered in their name and have not received a bill, they should contact the county in which they live and obtain an assessment: Scott County Assessor’s Office at (573) 545-3536 or New Madrid County Assessor’s Office at (573) 748-2387.
The City of Sikeston is not currently set up to take online payments. There will be a 3% fee for those using a debit or credit card when paying Sikeston city taxes.
Other cities and counties have also mailed their tax statements, which are all due to their respective offices by Dec. 31.
