Vincent Nichols
SIKESTON – Vincent Walter Nichols, age 88, passed away on Nov. 27, 2024, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1936, in Hattieville, Arkansas, to the late Andrew and Mary Williams Nichols.
On Aug. 29, 1957, in Vanduser, Missouri, he married Janice Marie “Jane” Hill Nichols who preceded him in death on Sept. 11, 2013.
He was a member of the Matthews Church of Christ in Matthews, Missouri, and was a farmhand for most of all his life.
He is survived by one son, Dennis (Francis) Nichols of Canalou, Missouri; two daughters, Debbie (James) Rhodes of Sikeston and Tina Wilburn of Canalou; one sister, Wanda of Kansas City, Missouri; and 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Jacobs and Shana Archie; and one grandson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Larry Harwood of the Matthews Church of Christ in Matthews officiating.
Interment will follow in the Matthews Cemetery in Matthews.
Pallbearers will be: Luke Rhodes, Lance Rhodes, Josh Carter, Justin Holder, Tyler Gilmore and Zack Cook.
