Speakout
(Opinion ~ 09/14/22)
The plan outlined in the Sunday paper is not right for Legion Park. What next? Are they planning to bring the Cotton Carnival back downtown as a permanent attraction to an already busy, congested area? Malone Park is already an established playground area and can accommodate the Levi Children Charity playground equipment as it is meant to be seen, used and enjoyed. Closing New Madrid Street will only create a great back-up of traffic on Kingshighway and Malone Avenue and will not help Downtown Sikeston. Disneyland is great, but no one wants to live there.
