Otto Porter Jr. scores first career NBA points Friday.
In his third game as an NBA professional, Otto Porter Jr. scored his first career points Friday against the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena in Atlanta.
The Washington Wizards' third-overall pick finished with four points after playing 16 minutes during their 101-99 overtime loss to the Hawks.
Porter shot 2 of 6 from the floor and also had four rebounds.
Porter's first bucket was an 18-foot jumper with three seconds left in the first quarter. The former Scott County Central star caught a pass from teammate Garrett Temple and drained the pull-up jumper to cut Washington's deficit to 21-19.
It's the first of many for the young lottery pick, or so I think. He'll need time to get in the flow with his team which he joined just over a week ago for the first time, which he will barring another setback. Nothing can take away that first bucket from "Bubba" and I know plenty of fans around here that are along for the ride as they follow his, hopefully, long career.
Kudos.
