I have been with the Standard Democrat sports department since 2007. I took over as sports editor in May of 2011 and have been slightly crazy about sports since I can remember. I attended Southeast Missouri State University and Scott County Central High School. I co-created our sports web show "The Last Word" and my two children, Elijah and CJ. I was married to my wife, Angie, in May of 2014. I love to golf, I am an avid NBA2K gamer and root for the Fighting Irish on Saturdays.

Class 4, District 1 baseball tournament postponed

SIKESTON -- The Class 4, District 1 baseball tournament has been put on hold.

Wet field conditions have prohibited play to begin on it's original starting date of Saturday for first round action.

The new schedule will begin Monday at 4 p.m. with fifth-seeded Dexter taking on No. 4 Perryville. No. 3 Sikeston and No. 6 Fredericktown will follow at 6 p.m.

The semifinal round will be Tuesday. Top-seeded Notre Dame will take on the winner of the Dexter-Perryville game at 4 p.m. while No. 2 Kennett awaits the Sikeston-Fredericktown winner at 6 p.m.

Championship night will be Wednesday at 6 p.m.
