I have been with the Standard Democrat sports department since 2007. I took over as sports editor in May of 2011 and have been slightly crazy about sports since I can remember. I attended Southeast Missouri State University and Scott County Central High School. I co-created our sports web show "The Last Word" and my two children, Elijah and CJ. I was married to my wife, Angie, in May of 2014. I love to golf, I am an avid NBA2K gamer and root for the Fighting Irish on Saturdays.

2014 Media Football Pick 'Em Week 3

Not a lot of time to explain my picks this go-round.

I will say that both Caruthersville and Kelly get their first wins this week (that felt weird to type...) and also Cape Central takes down Sikeston in our Game of the Week.

Jenks, you hit the nail on the head about Dexter. They have to start handing the ball off more and quit running Pollack so much or he's going to get hurt.

Also, Ste. Gen got hammered by Valle last week 34-7, not vice verse as you guys said it and they also lost their starting QB with a concussion. But I agree they should still be too much for NMCC.

Rankings? How clueless are you Dustin? Those are picks for this weeks games lol. I just number them. You think someone who is a writer and is around sports could obviously see that. I guess I gave you too much credit. Btw, I went 8-2 so not too much of a joke. How about you stick with what you know, volleyball.

I'm not convinced we'll beat Hayti either. Only team I see a for sure win on our schedule is Charleston. Lay off the bottle.
