The Sikeston American Legion Post 116 hosted its first-ever poker run and cook-off on Sept. 7 to benefit the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery.

Many of the motorcycles were decorated for the ride.

Approximately 81 motorcycles were registered for the ride, which was a benefit for the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.

While the ride was under way, so was a cook-off competition. Will Ferguson enjoyed his job of soaking the wood.

Motorcyclists checked out the bikes of others.

Tim Schultz, a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association, offered a "blessing of the bikes" and prayed for the riders' safety.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety provided an escort to lead the motorcyclists out of Sikeston.

Some 81 motorcycles and approximately 130 participants were registered Saturday to participate in Sikeston American Legion Post 116's first-ever poker run and cook-off competition.
