Sikeston Elementary students took part in the Sikeston Elementary Cross Country Challenge Tuesday morning at the Sikeston Field House. Each of the three elementary schools (Lee Hunter, Matthews and Southeast) had representatives take part in a cross country style race pitting the three schools against one another in both boys and girls races. Whichever school had the most finishers in the Top 10 won this year's plaque. With a score of 45, Matthews Elementary won the Cross Country Challenge. This was the first win for Matthews Elementary. Baden Hackworth finished first in the boys race while Kelsie Anderson took first place in the girls. Both are from Matthews Elementary.
