The Fifth and Sixth Grade Center took part in a "Penny War" during American Education Week. As their reward for raising $2,011, the students were treated to a special assembly on Nov. 21.

To kick off the assembly, some of the students treated their classmates to a dance to "Who Let the Dogs Out."

The "prize" for the top fundraising classes was the opportunity to watch their teacher kiss Bowser, a bulldog owned by Sarah Garmer.

Youngsters also chose DARE Officer Lorya Knox to give Bowser a kiss.

Denise Crawford's class was the first place winner among the sixth graders.

Lauren Bradley's class brought in the most money so teacher Lauren Bradley got to pick who would take her place kissing Bowser. She selected Mark Butler.
