Strong storms that rolled through the Sikeston area at about 10 p.m. left some without power and others with damage to homes and vehicles as a result of trees being uprooted. Employees with the Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities quickly got power back to midtown Sikeston Thursday night and had most major outages restored by about 4:15 a.m. However, crews were still working to restore some power to areas while replacing downed poles like these on Lion’s Street while trying to tie up loose ends.
