Farm comes to TCA

The Christian Academy in Sikeston transformed its parking lot into a farm for a few hours Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, to bring the farm to their students. Several stations were set up as students visited with and learned about several farm animals including chickens, pigs, goats, sheep, horses and cows and their uses as well as the roles of crops, such as rice, cotton, wheat and corn, play in their everyday lives. Organizers said oftentimes even though Sikeston-area children live in an agriculture community, they don�t always see or know about the animals and crops living and growing near them. The purpose of the event was to not only let them see the animals and crops up close and personal but to understand the roles they play in agriculture and everyday life.
