Four Portageville Lady Dawgs at the Fall Softball Senior Night

Last Thursday after the Portageville Lady Dawgs took a 0-2 loss to the Popular Bluff Lady Mules, four PHS Seniors were recognized for their efforts during their high school years.
Despite the loss, Portageville has a 20-5 record and has the First Seed in the District Tournament. The tournament is being hosted in Portageville with the finals set for Thursday, Oct. 8 at 5 PM.
The tournament began Tuesday afternoon. The other seedings include: Kelly (14-9), second; Saxony Luthern (11-7), third; Twin Rivers (8-8) fourth; Puxico (3-9), fifth; and East Prairie (1-10), sixth.

The first senior to be honored was Destiney Crossno. She is the daughter of Brian Harless and Janna Crossno. She is the granddaughter of Don and Eileen Crossno and Laura Williams. She is the sister to Brianna Harless. She has participated in fall and spring softball for four years. She broke the Missouri Softball Record last year for Season Total Chances and put outs.

Next is Mikayla Rone. She is the daughter of Trey and Valerie Rone. She is the granddaughter of Richard and Shirley Ivie and Don and Myra Rone. She has participated in fall and spring softball for four years.

Then, Taylor Tiffany, she is the daughter of Lee and Paula Tiffany. She is the granddaughter of Kenny and Pat Hart, Charlie and Carolyn Taylor, and Charlie and Hilary Tiffany. She is the sister to Hannah Tiffany. She has participated in softball for four years. She broke the Missouri Softball Record last year for Season Total Strikeouts with 391.

The last senior honored was Jalen Walls. She is the daughter of Kelly Whitfield and John Walls. She is the granddaughter of Autry and Mary Kincy and Buford and Anne Walls. She has participated in fall and spring softball for four years.
