SIKESTON — Shirley Baker-McClellon, 81, died April 6, 2018, in Sikeston. Born Sept. 23, 1935, in Caruthersville, daughter of the late Clifton and Jessie Mae Baker, she worked as a homemaker for several years. Survivors include: two daughters; Wanda Baker (Lynell Flint Williams) and Sherra Baker of Sikeston; five sons, Michael (Beverly) Baker, Ivan Baker, Cortez (Paula) Baker, Stafford McClellon of Sikeston and Morell (Sandra) Baker of Mississippi; two daughters-in-law, Mary Baker and Mary Lee Baker; and 30 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.. ...

Question in the school zone As many of you know in Sikeston, we have the new DAEOC Head Start at the corner of Wakefield and North West; therefore, there is a 20-mile-per-hour speed limit in the school zone as there is in any school zone. And I have seen tickets given out, but it doesn’t seem to be enforced when there is a police officer with no lights on driving three times that speed limit, at least. ...
