Yes, I would like to invite people to look at their tax bills. This upcoming school tax is going to double or triple your school tax bill. People making payments on their homes will see their escrow and their payments increase because of this. Newer schools don’t mean a better education. It’s just a showcase for teachers. Look at your tax bill again and see if you can afford another new school. Thank you for letting me speak out.

Students honored for competing PIVOT

During the fall semester, 23 eighth grade students at Sikeston Junior High School completed PIVOT, a pilot program that provides students the tools to navigate situations and conversations to get the most positive outcome possible. Recently those students were honored for completing the program. The students are pictured here along with mentors. Sikeston R-6 holds town hall

A town hall was held Tuesday evening at Lee Hunter Elementary School in Sikeston. Tours of Lee Hunter were given as well as a panel discussion on the Sikeston R-6 bond proposal that will be before the voters on April 7.
