MATTHEWS -- Virginia Keaton, 90, died March 30, 2008, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Oct. 30, 1917, in Dexter, to the late Harry Lehman and Josie Watts Vernon, she was a teacher at Bertrand and the Matthews Elementary School before retiring.
She married W.L. "Fat" Keaton who preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1994.
Two sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Doris Jo and Don Lewis of Gladstone; two grandchildren, Cindy Henkel of Shertz, Texas, and Craig Lewis of Independence; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday with Gene Lancaster officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
