ADVANCE - Dennis Harvey Stevens, 84, died Feb. 26, 2004, at the Advance Nursing Center.
Born Nov. 8, 1919, in Bell City, son of the late Matthew and Melinda Nicholson Stevens, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. A member of Bethel General Baptist Church near Advance, he retired from McCabe Powers Body Co., where was a painter for 20 years.
On June 17, 1944, in Denton, Texas, he married Cleo Proffer, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two brothers, Charles Stevens of Advance and Joe Stevens of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. The Rev. Ray Placher will officiate.
Burial will follow in Morgan Memorial Park.
