Mary Nichols

ADVANCE - Mary Hefner Nichols, 91, formerly of McGee, died Feb. 26, 2004, at her home.

Born Sept. 10, 1912, at McGee, daughter of the late Eddie and Etta McDaniel Walk, attended the Berrong General Baptist Church in Gipsy.

On Jan. 16, 1932, at McGee, she married Glen Hefner who preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1965. She later married Woodrow Nichols and he also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: four sons, Lloyd Hefner, Clay Hefner, LeeRoy Hefner and Gus Hefner of McGee; two daughters, Charlotte Holley of Arnold and Glenda Yount of McGee; three brothers, Audrey Walk of Puxico, Avery Walk of McGee and Edward Walk of Puxico; two sisters, Thelma Hinton of Flint, Mich., and Ruby Barnfield of Greenville; and 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Milford Walk and Steve Walk; and one sister, Beulah Walk; and two grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance with the Rev. Eldo Eaker and Rudy Pittman officiating.

Burial will follow in the McGee New Hope Cemetery.
