Otto Diebold
BENTON - Otto Solomon Diebold Jr., 78, died at 4:35 p.m. Dec. 23, 2003, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born April 9, 1925, in Benton, son of the late Otto Solomon and Elizabeth Rose Bertrand Diebold, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a foreman for Florsheim Shoe Company before retiring and was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.
On Oct. 22, 1955, in Benton, he married Barbara Faye Hester who preceded him in death on April 26, 1998.
Two brothers also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: one son, Robert Diebold of Jackson, Tenn.; two daughters, Diana Beggs of Benton and Linda Boaz of Jackson; one brother, Stephen Diebold of Benton; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton where services parish prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Denis Catholic Church with the Rev. Normand Varone.
The Missouri Honors Program will conduct graveside military rites at the St. Denis Cemetery in Benton.
