DEXTER - Mr. and Mrs. Leon Groves and children arrived Wednesday from San Antonio and Laredo, Texas, where Groves has been employed as an engineer with a construction company. Mrs. Groves and the children will visit her parents.

SIKESTON - Walter P. Moody has been flying 22 years. He learned how to fly in Sikeston. He is president of his own company, Globe Aero, Lock Haven, Pa., an aviation consultant firm. Like many others, in World War II, the 46-year-old Moody took his primary flight training here at the Parks Aviation School.


BLOOMFIELD - There were close to 3,000 persons crammed into a Bloomfield field house last night to witness the semifinals of the Scott County Tournament - and the huge structure still had room for more. Richland and Dexter, the two top-ranked teams in Southeast Missouri, collide tonight in the finals of the Stoddard County Tournament.

SIKESTON - A kickoff meeting was held Wednesday night at the home of Sharon Black to plan the third annual American Cancer Society Daffodil Day, scheduled for March 21.

SIKESTON - The winner of the Miss Teen Winter Princess Pageant was Cami Todt, daughter of Mike and Sandy Todt of Sikeston. First runner-up is McLane Jateff of Cape Girardeau; second runner-up is Ashley Battles of Dexter; third runner-up is Carrie Corso of Sikeston; and fourth runner-up is Hillary Sever of Sikeston.


SIKESTON - The winners in the Tiny Tot Winter Princess Pageant were Mykah Paige Bryan, queen; Mary Kathryn Finley, first runner-up; and Paige Lynch Eaves, second runner-up.
