Eulalia Friend

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Eulalia F. Friend, 85, died at 8:50 a.m. Jan. 7, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center.

Born Jan. 8, 1918, at Dexter, daughter of the late Arthur and Luella Bischoff Kirsch, she was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. A 1935 graduate of Lilbourn High School, she was a teacher in a one-room school in New Madrid County. She later worked for the Missouri Division of Employment Security in Sikeston for 15 years. She moved to Cape Girardeau from Sikeston in 1979.

On Nov. 15, 1942, at Parma, she married Harry D. Friend who survives.

Other survivors include: one son, Randal D. Friend of Scott City; one brother, Grover Kirsch of Columbia, Mo.; one sister, Audrey Baker of Columbia, Ill.; and three grandsons, Aaron Friend, Todd Friend and Chad Friend.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Chapel, where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Paul Short will officiate.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
