SIKESTON - The first Mathematics Fair was held in the Middle School cafeteria Wednesday through Friday. Class winners were: ninth grade, George Provenchure, John Brennan and Paula Waldman; eighth grade, Shad Old, Reese Ridder and Gary Wiss; seventh grade, Lee Crites, Beth Matthews and John Hough.

SIKESTON - Jean Collins was the top vote-getter in Sikeston's primary election Tuesday with 965 votes. Other candidates and votes were: Allen Blanton, 842; Kenneth Bridger, 455; June D. Freshour, 222; Pat Halsted, 98. The four will compete for the two seats on the Sikeston City Council in the April 3 General Election.

PUXICO - Balanced scoring came through once again for the Kelly Hawks boys basketball team. Five Hawks players hit double figures as Kelly demolished Puxico 83-69 Friday night. Kelly improves to 15-7 with the victory. Puxico downed the Hawks in the junior varsity contest, 79-57.

SIKESTON - Little Caesars Pizza will be one of the Sikeston businesses that will be participating in the Sikeston Library Day, set for Feb. 18. On that day, businesses are being asked to donate a portion of the day's profits to the library expansion project, which calls for a 7,500-square-foot addition to be constructed to the west of the current library structure.
