POPLAR BLUFF -- Trey Lucas ran back an interception 80 yards setting up Blytheville's go-ahead score in the third quarter Friday night.
With the game tied at 10 heading into the second half, the Mules forced a fumble in Blytheville territory but turned the ball over four plays when quarterback Mark Gum's pass was tipped into the hands of Lucas.
Three plays later quarterback Brice Beck hit Logan Rebstock for a 5-yard touchdown pass to put the Chickasaws up for good.
Beck threw for 105 yards on 10-of-18 passes while Blytheville (2-0) rushed for 288 yards with Brian Reed's 84 yards leading the charge.
After rushing for negative yards in a Week 1 loss at Forrest City, Ark., the Mules (0-2) were held to 45 yards on the ground.
Gum threw for 183 yards on 10-of-30 passes and threw three interceptions for the second straight week.
The two teams traded 30-yard field goals starting with Trell Edington's kick for Poplar Bluff in the first quarter.
After Beck tied the game at 3 in the second quarter, the senior gave Blytheville the lead with a 7-yard touchdown run with just under five minutes left in the half.
The Mules tied the game with 1:29 remaining when Gum hit Nick Stith for a 30-yard strike.
On Blytheville's first play of the second half, Reed fumbled and Allan Spencer recovered his second loose ball of the season.
The Mules then picked up a first down at the Blytheville 11-yard line but Gum's pass was tipped up in the air and into the hands of Lucas.
With a 17-10 lead, Blytheville used a 66-yard drive to take four minutes off the clock and seven more points on the board on Reed's 5-yard touchdown run to start the fourth quarter.
The Chickasaws added another touchdown off a Poplar Bluff turnover on an 8-yard run by Danny Davis with 5:04 remaining.
PARK HILLS -- St. Vincent scored 10 second-half points to pick up a road victory and remain perfect on the season.
The Indians (2-0) received a 25-yard field goal by Jonathan Buehler midway though the third quarter and an 8-yard touchdown run by Anthony Brown early in the fourth quarter. Buehler tacked on the PAT.
For the second straight week, St. Vincent defeated a team it lost to last season during a 7-4 campaign.
PERRYVILLE - The Pirates rallied from a 28-6 halftime deficit at home but were penalized on a two-point conversion attempt to tie with 40 seconds remaining in the game.
Perryville quarterback Cory Buerk completed 19-of-41 passes for 224 yards and two touchdown passes.
He also ran for a score but threw six interceptions.
Matt Unterreiner rushed for 82 yards on 21 carries. He also passed 71 yards to Clinton Rice for a touchdown in the first half.
David Ochs had 14 tackles and Matt Schamburg added eight for the Pirates (1-1).
